چکیده
Coupled dynamic analysis of a floating offshore wind turbine (FOWT) is predicted with in-house ITU-WAVE computational tool. The hydrodynamic parameters are approximated time marching boundary integral equation whilst aerodynamic solved unsteady blade element momentum method. In addition, forces on FOWT due to mooring lines quasi-static viscous effects included Morison equation. FOWT’s blades considered as an elastic structure tower rigid structure. steady speed surge motion spectrum decrease the amplitude over wave frequency ranges, but this effect not significant. duration domain simulation plays significant role in region and pitch resonant frequencies. numerical results code for eigenfrequencies blades, aerodynamics hydrodynamics validated against other which shows satisfactory agreements.

On the Modeling of Spar-type Floating Offshore Wind Turbines
In this paper an overview about floating offshore wind turbines (FOWT) including operating conditions, property and applicability of the barge, tension-leg, and spar floating platforms is described. The spar-floating offshore wind turbines (S-FOWT) have advantages in deepwater and their preliminary design, numerical modeling tools and integrated modeling are reviewed. Important conclusions abou...
متن کاملA comparison between the dynamics of horizontal and vertical axis offshore floating wind turbines.
The need to further exploit offshore wind resources in deeper waters has led to a re-emerging interest in vertical axis wind turbines (VAWTs) for floating foundation applications. However, there has been little effort to systematically compare VAWTs to the more conventional horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT). This article initiates this comparison based on prime principles, focusing on the tur...
متن کاملFloating Offshore Wind Turbines: Tension Leg Platform and Taught Leg Buoy Concepts Suppoting 3-5 Mw Wind Turbines
The development is presented of two low weight, motion resistant stiff floating wind turbine concepts for deployment in water depths ranging from 30 to several hundred meters in seastates with wave heights up to 30 meters supporting 3-5 MW onshore wind turbines. The floating wind turbines may be fully assembled at a coastal facility in their upright position prior to being towed to the offshore...
متن کاملWind-wave induced dynamic response analysis for motions and mooring loads of a spar-type offshore floating wind turbine
Due to the energy crisis and the environmental issues like pollution and global warming, the exploration for renewable and clean energies becomes crucial. The offshore floating wind turbines (OFWTs) draw a great deal of attention recently as a means to exploit the steadier and stronger wind resources available in deep water seas. This paper studies the hydrodynamic characteristics of a spar-typ...
متن کاملSHM of Floating Offshore Wind Turbines— Challenges and First Solutions
The paper presents an integrated SHM-system for floater, moorings, tower, nacelle and rotor blades. Its core is based on a multivariate SHM-system for rotor blades with three different measuring techniques accompanied by appropriate signal processing approaches: Acoustic Emission (AE) is used for identification of relative small damages at the whole blade, e.g. bursts of fibres, cracks of bon...
